MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, EMPLOYEES OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHER LEGAL PERSONS UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES



Article 10. Members of the Academy of Sciences



Members of the Academy of Sciences are full members (academicians), corresponding members, honorary and foreign members of the Academy of Sciences.

Full members (academicians) may be elected out of prominent scientists – citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who have made a great contribution to the development of science and enriched it with works of primary scientific importance.

Corresponding members may be elected out of prominent scientists – citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who have made significant contributions to the development of science and enriched it with works of major scientific importance.

Honorary members of the Academy of Sciences may be elected out of citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who have made a great contribution to the development of national economy, culture, education and state building of the Republic of Belarus.

The foreign members of the Academy of Sciences are elected out of foreign scientists who have made a major contribution to the world science.

Full members (academicians) and corresponding members have the right to be provided by the Academy of Sciences with the conditions necessary to carry out personally or to organize the scientific work, approved by the relevant Department of the Academy of Sciences.

Full members (academicians) and corresponding members are obliged to actively participate in fulfilling the tasks entrusted to the Academy of Sciences, and to implement the main directions of its activities.

The order of nomination of candidates and the order of election of full members (academicians), corresponding members, honorary and foreign members of the Academy of Sciences, their rights and duties are defined by the Statute of the Academy of Sciences.

The number of full members (academicians) and corresponding members of the Academy of Sciences is established by the President of the Republic of Belarus.



Article 11. Employees of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority



The order of recruitment, succession, rights, duties and responsibility of the employees of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority, are determined in accordance with the legislation, the Statute of the Academy of Sciences and the statutes of these legal persons.

Employees of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority have the right to:

freely carry out scientific search, improve their professional skills, cultural and spiritual development;

elect and be elected to the elective bodies of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority;

participate in the decision of the matters of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority;

work in a temporary research teams and in second jobs in the order established by legislation;

use scientific, educational, social and public services of scientific arganizations and other legal persons administered by the Academy of Sciences, the libraries of the Academy of Sciences, the Central Scientific Archive and archives of the mentioned legal persons;

possess, use and dispose the results of its scientific and scientific and technical activities in the order established by legislation;

form trade unions, public scientific organizations and associations.

These employees can enjoy other rights in accordance with the legislation.

Employees of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority, must:

ensure high efficiency of carried our scientific research and developments;

constantly improve their qualifications;

observe norms of scientific ethics;

comply with the provisions of the present Law, the Statute of the Academy of Sciences, the statutes of the corresponding organizations, the decisions of the governing bodies of the Academy of Sciences, internal regulations, as well as other duties in accordance with the legislation.

Employees of the Academy of Sciences, scientific organizations and other legal persons under its authority, are responsible for the failure to fulfil their duties in accordance with the legislation.
